1. Who we are
Jobvito is run by Techne Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with number 14170011, whose registered office is at 82A James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Suffolk IP28 7DE. We decide how the personal data described here is used, which makes us its controller under UK data protection law.
For anything about this policy or your data, write to support@jobvito.com.
2. Who this policy is for
It covers people who visit jobvito.com, and people who create a Jobvito account to run a job board.
If you use a job board that runs on Jobvito, as a candidate, an applicant or an employer, the board's owner decides how your data is used, and we handle it for them under the Data Processing Agreement. The board's own pages tell you who runs it, and its "Your data" page lets you see, download or erase what it holds on you. You can also write to us and we will pass your request to the board's owner.
3. What we collect, and why
We collect only what we need to give you an account and run your board:
- Your account: your email address and a password, which is stored only as a scrambled hash. We need these to let you sign in. The legal basis is our contract with you.
- Signing in: the time and the network address your browser used, kept by our authentication provider to protect your account from misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping accounts secure.
- Your boards: each board's name and settings, and the versions of the terms, this policy and the Data Processing Agreement you accepted, with the time. The legal basis is our contract with you, and our legitimate interest in being able to show what was agreed.
- Billing: your plan, whether it is paid, and the invoices. Card details go to Stripe and never reach us. The legal basis is our contract with you, and the law, which requires us to keep accounting records.
- Messages you send us: what you write, so we can answer. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in helping you.
- Staff access: if a member of our staff opens access to your board to help you, a record of who, why, when and what they read. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in accountable access, and our duties to you under the Data Processing Agreement.
We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or build profiles of people. We do not send you marketing email unless you ask for it.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use only the cookies that keep you signed in. They are needed for the site to work, so we do not ask before setting them. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
Our visitor figures are daily counts of pages viewed and steps taken, such as how many people reached the signup page. They hold nothing that could identify a person.
To show our prices in pounds, euros or dollars, the home page uses the country your connection comes from, which our hosting provider works out from your network address as every request arrives. It is used only to choose the currency shown first, is not stored or logged, and you can switch currency on the page. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in showing prices you can read.
5. Who else handles it
These companies process personal data for Jobvito. Each is bound to use it only for the service it gives us.
| Company | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic | Reading employer careers pages a board owner asks the platform to import, categorising the resulting job adverts, and drafting the owner's own suggestions and briefings | Global (no EU pin is offered for this API) |
| Resend | Email delivery | EU |
| Stripe | Payments | EU and UK |
| Supabase | Database, authentication and file storage | UK (London, eu-west-2) |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Bot protection on public forms | EU |
| Vercel | Application hosting | UK (London, lhr1) |
The language model from Anthropic is never sent your email address, or anyone's contact details, CV or application. It is shown job adverts, web pages and a board's settings and counts, to help the board's owner run it.
We would also share personal data if the law required it, for example on a court order.
6. Where it is kept
Personal data is stored in the United Kingdom and processed in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area. The exception is the requests to the language model described above, which may be handled outside them and never contain the personal data listed there.
7. How long we keep it
- Your account and board details: while you have an account. When you close it, we delete them within 30 days.
- Invoices and payment records: six years from the end of the financial year they belong to, as UK law requires.
- The record of what you accepted: for as long as the agreement lasts and six years after it ends, in case of a dispute.
- Messages you send us: two years after the conversation ends.
- Staff access records: for as long as the board they concern exists.
8. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, or to object to our using it on the basis of our legitimate interests. You can also ask for it in a form you can take elsewhere.
Write to support@jobvito.com. We will answer within one month. We may ask you to prove who you are first.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would be grateful for the chance to put it right first.
9. Keeping it safe
Data is encrypted in transit and when stored. Our staff have no standing access to boards: access is opened for one board, for a stated reason and a set time, and every read is logged where the board's owner can see it. Staff sign in with a second factor.
10. Children
Jobvito accounts are for adults running a job board. We do not knowingly hold data about children in them.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your data, we will email account holders before it takes effect.
